Do I need to provide a tent or other camping equipment for the overnight farm trip? No, your camper will not need to bring their own tent. For the overnight camping trip your child will need his or her own sleeping bag, clothes and personal items.

What kind of knives or other equipment will campers be using? Campers will be using age appropriate kitchen equipment including safe knives, stoves, ovens, and mixers with guidance and supervision of Bay Leaf Kitchen staff.

What is your cancellation policy? Our refund policy is designed to discourage last minute cancellations and to help families on the waiting list. The tuition is refundable (minus a $50.00 application fee) for requests received in writing, via e-mail, to info[AT]bayleafkitchen.org before May 15th, 2017. CAMP FACILITIES: We have 12 rustic cabins, 1/3 acre natural pond, modern kitchen/dining room, activity building with small group rooms and a game room, Chapel, archery range, shower houses, arts and crafts area, outdoor games, 1/2 court basketball court, 2 campfire areas.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Pendola is an ACA accredited camp. Serving an average of 65 campers each week. sessions range in size from 40 - 96. All of campers spend at least one night sleeping out under the stars. Except for our very youngest campers (Grades 1 and 2), campers hike to remote camp sites, most on Tahoe National Forest Service land, play, prepare dinner and breakfast the following morning, and sleep out under the stars.

Camp staff are college age young adults who are hired for the season. All staff are certified in CPR/AED and First Aid. About 1/2 of the staff have basic certification in Wilderness First Aid. And 90% of the staff are certified lifeguards.

The camp director has been in their current position for 8 1/2 years with over 15 years of experience in administrative camping positions.

At Skyhawks we go the extra mile to focus on safety, and we have a long-standing proven safety track record and processes to prove it. CAMP FACILITIES: Our 200 acre property contains forest land, a swimming pond, activity fields and hiking trails. We have 14 cabins, a dining hall, meetinghouse and a large community garden attached to our farm lands and orchard.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summer Camp - Ages 8-14: Campers come for 1 week or two week session (and some for 3, 4, or 5 weeks!) and go on wilderness trips. Each week there are 3 day, 2 night trips to Tahoe, the Sierra Buttes, and/or the Yuba River.

Teen Leadership Camp - Ages 15-16: These exciting programs takes the Summer Camp experience to a whole new level for 15 and 16 year olds: We offer a two-week hiking program, a one-week farming and cooking program, and a two-week bike repair and bike touring program.

Hiking Program (Two weeks): TLCers will spend two days bonding, learning about their trip, and preparing for hiking. They and their trip leaders will then embark on a 10-day backpacking trip along the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). They will then return to camp, and will have two days of closure at the end.

Farming & Cooking Program (One week): TLCers will spend their week working in Woolman's organic garden, learning about farming, plants and the farm to table journeys of the food we eat. They will learn nutrition and cooking skills as they prepare many of their meals with the fruits and vegetables harvested.

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers live in cabins (wooden buildings with canvas window and door coverings). Up to 10 campers and 2 or 3 staff members live together. Bathrooms with flush toilets and hot showers are located nearby. Meals are served buffet style. We eat outside in the dining area. Food is excellent with fresh fruit, salad bar and hot entrees at each meal. Vegetarian and vegan meals are also available. Special diets can be accommodated with conversations ahead of time.

CAMP FACILITIES: Beautiful and recently renovated Black Box Theater. It has a stage and comfortable back stage. All of our props and backgrounds are designed and created by hand. Elevated seating that can fit up to 90 people. There is a ticket booth and a functioning restroom. Different types of lighting: black light, fluorescent, stage lighting, rope lighting, and a disco ball. A working sound board, music, and up-to-date stereo system. We utilize different media options as well.
A few buildings away is our main office, where rehearsals may sometimes be held. It has 3 spacious rehearsal rooms, each with a baby grand piano.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: A sleeping princess, a spellbound Prince and more fairies than you can shake a stick at are all part of this quirky adaptation of the popular tale. The evil Trollarina exacts her revenge on the royal family by sending the beautiful Princess Melisande into an everlasting sleep, but little does she realize more than one spell is about to be broken by the kiss of an enchanted Faun.

We do not skip out on costumes! Every participant will be outfitted in a role and age appropriate costumes for the performance. The actors and actress will also interact with carefully designed and created props.

Students will be learning stage position, projection of their voice, blocking, how to interpret a scrip, read music, sing in a group, and dancing. Since the plays we do are musicals, the actors and actresses will learn the basics of singing. It includes, reading music, matching pitch, group and possibly solo singing, tempo, and rhythms. Our choreographer will teach dance positions, dance moves, rhythm, counting, and tempo. Every lesson is created with the children's skill level and abilities in mind and we always encourage them and help them strive for their best.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: We offer three classical Chinese camps at varying levels for ages 6 to 18: the half-day children's dance camp, and the full-day youth and intensive camps. Entry into the intensive camps is by audition only; call us to sign up for an audition time.

In addition to Chinese dance, for 2015 we will offer half-day fine art and Chinese camps. Many students combine half-day classical Chinese dance camps with half-day Chinese or fine art programs to create a full-day program.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Fei Tian Academy of the Arts California is a middle and high school with programs in classical Chinese dance, fine art, and music. We offer an after-school program for elementary and middle school aged students during the academic year, in addition to weekend classes in dance and fine art, and private lessons in piano, violin, and viola.

CAMP FACILITIES: The campus features large modern dormitories, residence halls, dining hall and a snack bar. Services include health center, bookstore and laundry facilities.

The numerous indoor and outdoor art studios and exhibition areas include the Parks Exhibition Center and the Eymann Sculpture Garden.

Performance halls include the new Lowman Concert Hall, IAF Theatre, Stephens Recital Hall, Holmes Amphitheatre, and the Junior Players Theatre.

The Krone Library houses resource areas, classrooms and a museum.

CAMP FACILITIES: Located underneathe the main stage at the Golden Bough, SoDA rehearses and performs in the Circle Theatre as well as on stage of the Golden Bough. Both locations are in the same facility with fully equipped performance stage, theatrical lighting, and seating for up to 300 - 80 patrons.

Our camps are focused on the wide variety of interests or our campers. Campers are encouraged to participate in more than one camps over the course of the summer.

Play Production Camp - Begins June 20. There are feature parts for everyone, with many opportunities to share individual talents. Groovy! celebrates the hippies and flower children of the 1960’s through an adventure of friends throwing a free Music, Beads and Flowers Celebration. With the help of a popular singing group, the Lemon Bugs, a festival emerges at Crumb’s Apple Farm with colorful busses and wildly funny characters
including surfers ‘California Cowabunga’ and ‘California Ivy’, and ‘Swash Buckler’ the Security Guard.

COMEDY IMPROVISATIONAL THEATRE:
Students will learn improvisational skills that are applicable to all areas of theatre,

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Lights! Camera! Action! This hands-on camp covers basic video skills and film techniques as campers explore the three stages of video production. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: California Theatre Center's Core Conservatory is a full-day theatre experience for students with or without prior theatre training. Students work hands-on with CTC's professional teaching artists in acting, movement and voice classes. All students are cast in a play that is performed for the public on the final two days. In this process-based Conservatory, the students also design and build all props, sets, costumes, tickets and programs as they engage in and learn about every aspect of live theatre. Event Info: Enjoy a week filled with exploration and creativity as we learn to use a variety of art media. Artist Ron Hutt offers a unique approach to activating the creative imagination in this workshop. Using his theory and practice of Media Entanglement, participants will be introduced to a wide range of wet and dry media, innovative mark making and layering techniques with the goal of enhancing the development of their personal style of drawing and painting.

Title: Word into Art
Anna Novakov - Novakov holds a doctorate from New York University and is Professor of Art History at Saint Mary’s College of California.

This workshop, led by writer Anna Novakov, focuses on the role of text in the art making process. Public signage, words, letters, found texts, graffiti tags and collage can all be sources of ideas as well as forms of art in themselves.
